Mar 28, 2020 · BMW’s S63 is a seriously powerful engine when tuned. Actually, the S63 M5 and M6 are so powerful it just about maxes the stock DCT with a tune-only. Following a tune, upgraded downpipes are the next best bolt-on to extract more power. Although, this may push the transmission past it’s limits. More on this later…. We did three power runs with tune loaded and all were very consistent around 390whp, best was 391.8whp. Flashed it back to stock while still strapped down and did three runs, once again all very consistent around 300whp.

Anecdotally--I had a 2009 n54 335i and all it had was an intercooler and OTS Stg1 MHD tune, and it definitely felt slightly faster than my current 2016 340i with OTS Stg1 BM3 in the same configuration (RWD, MT). I remember actually being scared in my old car sometimes from how violent it was.
