To add to Rohit's point, DaVinci Resolve will continue to read non-official MP4 files from your recorder, camera or application. The official MPEG spec matters only when rendering to an MP4 container from DaVinci Resolve. The change between Resolve 17 and 18 is cosmetic.

If you’ve generated optimized media or proxies, it defaults to whatever you’d selected at the time of generating those. Since those aren’t RAW, there’s nothing that’s going to be changing. Head to the color page, open the gallery, right-click on the viewer, and select grab still. The still will now appear in the gallery. Right-click on the still and select export. You can now save the still under a variety of different formats. With the still saved, import it back into your media pool and place it onto the timeline.I recorded in 6k BRAW 12:1 compression. I may not be wording exactly right but Blackmagic greyed out the iso because it is treated so differently between camera companies and it’s difficult to get them all in line with one control system. I've noticed some of my clips are greyed out in the timeline I created, but still seem to active and playing (see photo -- Video 5 track on timeline), while other clips are highlighted. Be aware that only the studio version of Resolve includes access to all OFX plugins. If you have the free version, you might not be able to use that sharpen plugin. However you can use the built in sharpen/ blur options. The icon next to the tracker opens up the blur/mist/sharpen tool. Resolve won't make the Dual Screen menus active unless it thinks there are really 2 screens, and it only does that check when the app is launched. If you have launched Resolve after you have the iMac acting as a second screen, and the Dual Screen menus are grayed out, then apparently Resolve does not think that's an actual second screen.
