Interesting, it sounds like if we patched the nfc module of the 3ds/wii u to not check for that '5F' writelock, then we could write amiibos with that lock off, and it would work (with hacks) and be able to be reused. From a software point of view, adding an option to patch the amiibo data written to not be locked should be easy.

I know it sounds kinda stupid, but I can't buy an NFC tag right now. I do have a few Samsung phones with NFC (S20 FE and S10) but I don't want to root them. I have already tried Joycontrol, but it obviously didn't work because... well, 12.0.0. ... It's finicky but it works long enough for me to at least be able to scan amiibos.I printed the images on A4 paper and glued it to cardboad. I put the nfc sticker on the backed and glue a white sheet of paper over it. A friend of mine used business card sheets to print off some small amiibo cards for the house to use with the game. I used a full page label, printed multiple card images to it.
