For official, the Devs usually announce if it’s a wipe or not. Can’t see any evidence. Typically if it’s a huge overhaul it’s wiped, or if there’s a technical issue that requires them to wipe. Private non hive DayZ severs will be a fresh character each time as since its not hive only the server you played on will have your character file. The same will be true with Livonia. Public Hive = Shared Character. Private = new character for each server.
